Journal Prompts to Reclaim Your Goals :)

Daily writing prompt
How often do you say “no” to things that would interfere with your goals?

I’m always saying no to my own goals, it’s not that I’ve stopped having goals. It’s that my goals became my kids.

They’ve been my priority, my focus, my purpose. If they have a goal, I’m all in. If they need something, I’m there. I say yes to them every time without hesitation.

Now that they’re getting older maybe I can start saying yes to me again too.

Nothing huge. Just small, meaningful things:

  • Taking a course in psychology or autism
  • Travelling more, even if it’s just weekend trips
  • Going out for meals, trying new places
  • Enjoying life a little more alongside being there for my kids

Because I can do both now.

I love that they have their own lives now and they want me to be a part of it.

  3. What small step could I take toward a personal goal right now?
  4. What does balance look like for me at this stage of life?
  5. Where am I saying no out of habit instead of choice?
  6. What would it feel like to say yes to myself in a small way?
  7. How can my goals and my kids’ lives support each other instead of compete?
  8. What is one goal I’d love to gently bring back into my life?
