A Fun Way to Move: Finding Joy in Exercise
I used to think of exercise as something I had to do — a chore to tick off the list. But somewhere along the way, that mindset shifted. I stopped focusing on calories or reps, and started chasing FUN.
Now, moving my body is about feeling alive, connected, and happy. And honestly? It’s so much better this way.
One of my absolute favorite ways to exercise is sea swimming.
There’s something magical about being in the cold, salty water, with the wide open sky above and the sound of the waves all around.
It’s not just exercise — it’s an experience.
The scenery alone lifts my mood, and that rush of energy afterwards? Nothing beats it.
I also love cycling, especially when it takes me somewhere beautiful. Pedaling along country roads or coastal paths, wind in my hair, sun (or sometimes rain!) on my face — it feels like freedom.
Then there’s dance — probably the most fun of all. Just putting on music in the kitchen and moving however I feel.
No rules, no right way. Just joy, rhythm, and laughter.
Another favorite is pool swimming, especially when it’s followed by time in the sauna or steam room. Add in a friendly chat with someone I bump into there, and it feels more like a treat than a workout.
New walks keep things fresh too. Exploring different places, changing up the scenery, noticing little things I’ve never seen before — it keeps my body moving and my mind curious.
If you’re looking for ways to move more but dread the usual gym routine, here are 8 fun ways to exercise that might just change how you feel about fitness:
8 Fun Ways to Exercise:
- 🌊 Sea Swimming – Refreshing, energizing, and filled with natural beauty.
- 🚴♀️ Cycling Scenic Routes – Feel the freedom and explore somewhere new.
- 💃 Dancing – At home, in a class, or anywhere the music moves you.
- 🏊 Pool Swimming + Sauna – A relaxing combo of movement and recovery.
- 🥾 Exploring New Walks – Nature walks, city strolls, or hidden trails.
- 🧘 Yoga in the Park – Stretch, breathe, and connect with the outdoors.

The key is to do what feels good.
When you move in ways that make you smile, you’ll find you want to keep going — not because you have to, but because you love it.
And that, to me, is the best kind of exercise.
