What is your favorite type of weather?
Living in Ireland, we truly get to experience all the seasons—sometimes within a single day!
One minute, the sun is shining, and the next, you’re caught in a surprise downpour, regretting every life choice that led you to leave your coat at home. The golden rule? Always have a hood and be prepared for anything.
For me, weather isn’t just a backdrop to life—it dictates how I feel, how I dress, and even how much I enjoy my day.
I thrive in the outdoors, in the crisp, fresh air but I need to be wrapped up properly to enjoy it.
If I had to pick my ideal weather, it would be anything above 10°C—that perfect middle ground where a light coat is enough, but you’re not shivering to your bones. Anything below that, and I’m layering up with a heavy coat, hat, and gloves like I’m bracing for an Arctic expedition.
And then there’s the sun.
Oh, how I love when the sun makes an appearance!
But in Ireland, it’s not quite the same as being away on holiday. Here, when the weather is nice, there’s this pressure to get things done—the garden, the washing, the errands. You don’t just sit and soak it in; you use the good weather while it lasts.
I can’t deny that warmer weather helps with my pain. The chill can creep into my bones, making everything feel stiff and sore, so when we get those rare warm spells, I feel the difference. It’s like my body finally relaxes, even if my brain still prefers the cool.
Ultimately, Irish weather is about embracing the unpredictability. You dress in layers, you keep a raincoat handy, and you learn to appreciate those small, perfect moments—whether it’s a crisp, sunny morning or the cozy comfort of wrapping up warm on a chilly evening.
So, whether it’s rain, wind, sun, or all three in an hour, I’ll be here, adjusting my coat, pulling up my hood, and taking it all in.
