Are you patriotic? What does being patriotic mean to you?
Being Irish isn’t just about where you’re from—it’s about how you live.
It’s the way we insult our best mates more than our enemies, knowing the worse the slagging, the stronger the friendship.
It’s the cúpla focal thrown into conversation, even if our Gaeilge is questionable.
It’s the passion of watching the Irish rugby team take on the world, the whole country holding its breath for a last-minute drop goal, and the guaranteed post-match debate over a few pints—and the usual argument over who’s paying for them – I’ve got them!
It doesn’t matter where we go in the world; we’ll always find each other.
There’s an unspoken bond when you meet another Irish person abroad—within five minutes, you’ll have figured out a mutual friend, a cousin, or at least a lad who once dated your cousin.
We’re a small country, but we’re all connected, and that’s what makes us who we are.
And if you don’t agree?
Slàn!!
