Gain Clarity using Journal Questions :)

When a challenge or problem arises, try this approach:

Write it down on a fresh page in your journal and leave it for a bit.

Sometimes stepping back offers surprising perspective, and later, you can come back to the challenge with renewed clarity.

When you’re ready, revisit it with these 8 guiding questions to gain insight:

8 Questions to Journal for Clarity

  1. What exactly is the challenge?
Describe it clearly and in detail.
  2. What emotions does this bring up?
Name any feelings associated with the issue to understand how it’s affecting you.
  3. What’s the worst-case scenario?
Sometimes facing this makes the challenge less intimidating.
  4. What outcome do I want?
Define your desired resolution. Visualize the ideal outcome.
  5. Who or what can help?
Identify resources, people, or tools that might provide support or solutions.
  6. What steps can I take immediately?
List at least one or two actions, no matter how small, to move forward.
  7. What’s the root cause of this issue?
Try to understand if there’s an underlying cause that’s contributing to the challenge.
  8. How will I feel when this is resolved?
