What Would You Do With Extra Time Without Sleep?

If you didn’t need sleep, what would you do with all the extra time?

Oh, what a question!

For some of us, sleep isn’t just a necessity—it’s a reprieve.

For those living with chronic pain, it’s often the only time we escape the discomfort. If that break disappeared, nights might feel endless, and, honestly, screaming into the void might become a pastime.

But let’s imagine for a moment that pain was out of the equation.

What if those extra hours became a gift instead of a burden?

I’d chase the moments we often miss: sunrises and sunsets.

Each one holds a kind of magic, a fleeting beauty I’d love to savor. Maybe I’d explore them from new vantage points—on a hilltop one day, by the sea the next, camera in hand, ready to capture their glory.

And then, when the sun sets and darkness takes over, I’d delve into the mysteries of the night sky. I’d study the stars, learn their constellations, and maybe even try my hand at astrophotography. There’s a quiet wonder in the vastness above, a beauty that whispers to us if we take the time to listen.

Sleep is precious, but so is the possibility of more time.

Without the need to rest, I’d make it my mission to soak up every ounce of beauty the world offers, from dawn to dusk and beyond.

How about you?

What would you do if sleep didn’t call you to bed?
