What’s the first impression you want to give people?
When people meet me for the first time, I hope they see someone who’s friendly, fun, warm, and caring.
I want to come across as genuine—someone they can talk to about anything, whether it’s a lighthearted chat about the day or diving deep into meaningful subjects.
One thing I’m firm on, though, is if the conversation turns toward speaking negatively about others, I bow out.
I value authenticity and kindness, and I strive to reflect that in every interaction.
Here are 8 reflective journal prompts to explore the first impression you want to give:
1. How do I define being friendly, warm, and caring, and how do I embody these qualities?
2. What does being genuine mean to me, and why is it important in first impressions?
3. How do I balance lighthearted conversations and deeper topics in my interactions?
4. Why do I feel strongly about avoiding negative talk about others?
5. What values do I want people to associate with me upon meeting me?
6. How do I show people they can trust me in conversation?
7. Have I ever made an impression I wasn’t proud of? What would I change?
8. How do I maintain authenticity while leaving a positive impression?
These prompts can help you dive deeper into your personal values and how they shape your connections with others.
