Your life without a computer: what does it look like?
I imagine it would push me to be more connected with nature, more adventurous, creative, and social. Without screens to distract me, I’d likely spend more time outdoors, exploring, and rediscovering the simple joys of life. I’d probably find myself creating more—whether through art, music, or simply connecting with others face-to-face.
It could spark a deeper sense of community.
I think society as a whole would benefit from this shift. It’s sad to see how disconnected we’ve all become, from our children to our leaders. We seem to be spiraling further into division and conflict, and the world feels like it’s getting worse every day. What we truly need is a giant reset—but not through war. For a moment during COVID, it felt like we were given a reset. While the hardship and loss of life were devastating, there was a collective pause. For a time, we slowed down, and the idea of “we’re all in this together” felt real.
But it didn’t last. Things returned to “normal,” and in many ways, they got worse. The divisions between us only deepened, and that sense of unity faded. A world without computers might seem impossible, but it could be the kind of reset that brings us back to each other, back to a more grounded way of living—without the constant noise, distraction, and division that our digital lives fuel.
Living without the constant presence of technology reminds us of the importance of simplicity. Getting back to basics—whether it’s spending more time outdoors, growing our own food, or nurturing real, in-person connections—grounds us in what truly matters. In a world that often feels chaotic and disconnected, returning to a simpler way of life can restore balance, foster creativity, and bring us closer to each other. It’s not about abandoning progress but about finding a healthier, more meaningful way to live.
