It was a movement. It was a passion. A fire burning deep in the hearts of very local to see the nation set free.

The land was then conquered first by the Portuguese, then the Dutch, then the British, who took most of every opportunity they have to dig resources and wealth of this virgin Land of the Malays. It was self indulgence, selfishness, ignorance and poor administration that first caught the Glorious Kingdom of Malacca into such a tragedy. There, a nation ended, a colony begun. They slowly took over the region and the people found their rights slowly being robbed away as the colony grew stronger and bigger. They even brought in loads and literally loads of workers and slaves from India and from China. Of course, there were already Chinese millionaires and communities living in this land at that time. But everyone came striving, looking for a better life. The Malays were suffering from the same opression. We were all in the same boat, same struggle.

We all wanted freedom. We wanted to get over with the British and start working together and get our lives back. We were best of buddies. The years goes by as we live in harmony, having children and families, making this land a place we can truly call home. We enjoyed the company of different cultures and variety of people. Still under bondage of the British (not to mention, the Japs somewhere in between).

We started more movements, involving all races and backgrounds, we wanted change, we wanted back the freedom that was robbed from us. There might be difference in the movements, but with a common goal of fighting for freedom. It was revolutionary!

After many many years, the British under various reasons decided to grant freedom to this land, to the people. They drafted what seemed to be the perfect plan for a nation with such diversity of culture to live and develop in harmony.

This was where greed invaded the land once again. People of different races, who used to fight side by side for one cause, they all wanted their own rights, and started forming parties to fight for the rights of their ethnicity, failing to see that they could have fought for the rights of all people, showing grace and mercy and love towards each other.

But anyways, we achieved?independence in 1957 where the nation celebrated the freedom from western colonization, fulfilling the dreams and the hope of MANY MANY people who dedicated their lives to the cause. It was an awesome sight with the spirit of freedom in the air.

53 years down the road.

Welcome to Malaysia in 2010.

I find myself at the very beginning of the whole process again. We are invaded once again, our freedom is threatened and there's an urgency for a new nationalisme movement for freedom. We found ourselves deprived from speaking what we think, we have mainstream media that does not reflect the political reality of the nation. Being born in this land for generations after generations, the term 'race' still exists as we are accused for violating rights. Hollow propagandas are up again, claiming to bring the better good. And where does it all started off with? Yes, self indulgence, selfishness, ignorance to the reality and poor administration. Sounds very familiar doesn't it?

For the love of this nation, for the freedom of the people and the nation, for our future and our generation, let our passion burn once again to see Malaysia FREED! Free from injustice and corruption, from evil and the unrighteous. It is a call for all Malaysians who love Malaysia to once again look beyond our differences and fight for a common goal, for a new nationalisme, which is a Malaysia for all Malaysians! A Malaysia free of oppression! A Malaysia that focuses on the economical development of the nation and the welfare of all the people.

It's time we bring freedom and MERDEKA up another notch.

We cannot keep dreaming about our achievements in the past, about how we achieved freedom from the British. That was good, that was the past. Lets all focus and work on achieving a whole new level of freedom. Because we choose to believe, choose to love and choose to hope for a better Malaysia.

We love you Malaysia! We're praying for you and we promise you that these prayers will eventually be turned into actions that can bring you a new life.

HAPPY MERDEKA!

Malaysians for justice, for righteousness and for freedom!

If we did it, we can surely do it again!

JoFan. I love Malaysia. I love Malaysia so much I am willing to die to see it change. I love Malaysia. I think it's one of God's greatest creation!

For you have been called to live in freedom, my brothers and sisters. But don't use your freedom to satisfy your sinful nature. Instead, use your freedom to serve one another in love. Galatians 5:13

Yea! Having all the food and culture from all over asia... I discovered a new characteristic this beautiful nation has.

Guess where it originates from?

Yes.. you bet it!

NORTH KOREA!

<del datetime="2010-08-21T04:00:49+00:00">BN's</del> The <del datetime="2010-08-21T04:00:49+00:00">DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC</del>?Federation of <del datetime="2010-08-21T04:00:49+00:00">North Korea</del> Malaysia

Such diversity of culture, which includes.. the throwing of chairs which happened in Taiwan AND ALSO in the MCA AGM years ago... corruption which happens practically every where else AND ALSO here, being the essence of it... i shouldn't go into more... today we discover a new one... FASCIST MEDIA CONTROL.. yea a failed one... this one, the people actually know it's happening.

Ahh!!

I don't think I'm in the mood to put more sarcasm in this..

But all I know is this. A scientific hypothesis..

The more BN suspend people, the higher possibility they themselves will be suspended by the people.

I can already accept my own hypothesis!

Thousands of people heard his 2 partners crying on-air for the injustice that has falled upon their colleague. Whatever it is, these 3 DJs and these thousands of listeners and those who care about the news... BN has successfully been removed from their vocabulary. We are one step closer to a HOPE for CHANGE in the next GE next year. And the coming one in Sarawak this October.

I can't wait. I can't wait to see justice be done! I can't wait to see the fascist selfish government (which i thought only exist in comics and movies) be overthrown. I can't wait!!

Just received a call from my aunt, she posted a status on FB yesterday about Jamal and today she found it was missing. I think it's technically impossible that facebook can delete that without notice and that BN can get there. But this is just crazy! She's very pissed.

Bye bye MCA... until you become Malaysian's Cause for ASEAN/AIDS/Antartica or having some vision of that sort that CONTRIBUTES to humanity.

He gave His life to free us from every kind of sin, to cleanse us, and to make us his very own people, totally committed to doing what is right. Titus 2:14

I repeat.

A friend in doubt is a friend you cannot leave without.

People have questions, they have doubt, they are desperate for answers... and you leave just in the middle of those conversations. That's not cool! A Christ Follower does what Christ would do, show love. Never leave until you reach somewhere.

So it was lunch today. I was supposed to eat with woon khai. HE CAME FOR CF! So cool!! So we went to the canteen and I met this other CFer there.

We sat down talked about RR and CF, and he started to share with me about his doubts on the faith, common questions people ask about natural disasters and Israel and gays and born crippled and all. It was interesting.

I just listened to him. Experience tells me that's the best thing to do. People don't want to listen to you just yet, they want to tell you how they feel. So in the end we had a talk, it was a good one. Yu Song tried to join, but he couldn't understand what he was talking about, haha!

Well, I did not answer all his questions, because I do not have the answers, I am not God. All I know is God is love and God wants me to love like He did. And the rest follows it.

I apologized I don't have the answers, but I do know that God is real in my life because I have a relationship with Him and I experience Him daily. He needed to go coz Pn Lan invited him to the new cf committee meeting. I caught the opportunity before he leaved, to pray for him in the canteen. He thanked us and he left.

I was on my way home too. When I was taking my stuff at the CF room, I opened the cupboard and took out a book. Its called The Case For Faith by Lee Strobel. My friend's a very deep guy with loads of deep thinking, and that book practicaly answers alot of his questions with more deep stuff, haha! I remembered reading it, the facts made me go @@.

Anyway I felt a deep prompting in my heart to give him the book for the weekend at least. So with my school bag and all, I went up to the classroom they had the meeting and looked for him to give him the book.

He was very very excited when he saw the title of the book and the author. It's like he striked a?lottery?or something.. really.. haha! I was shocked, but I knew I did the right thing obeying God. He said he has been looking for the book for AGES, gave me a big THANK YOU and I told Him this is just one of God's awesome powers. High-fived him and I left home. Happy! =D

Challenged: A small action like listening can somehow change a person's life in the end. It's always the small acts of love that makes the largest impact. Go do it!

This is how we know what LOVE is: Jesus Christ laid down His life for us, so we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers. 1 John 3:16

You know those random small waves of nervousness before you go on stage to speak? Everyone has that, no? haha!

I have those.

The Bible says that LOVE knows no fear. Fear is non-existant when you LOVE!

(Yea... that statement sounds like something a mutant in X-men would say. Well apparently LOVE is greater than X-men. Coz God is LOVE, amen?)

THAT, is very true to me. On some occasions, when I am asked to talk about things I cannot connect or relate to, or maybe some blasphemous speech about how good 1Malaysia is, the nervousness goes on, because I seriously have no heart for it. But when it comes to things I am passionate about, things I stand for and believe in, things I REALLY REALLY want people to know and understand, I can take the stage DOWN! =P I knew that since our last Raub Mission Trip! Man it was great! Gave sermons in BM without fear, filled with love and passion, with the Holy Spirit.

I experienced that feeling again today! I started speaking and I didn't wanna stop that soon, coz there's just so much I wanna share, so much I learnt and went through with God that I wanna tell people. How great God is, how much God can use someone with just obedience and availablity.

Getting back to the story, in CF today, the old committee peeps such as me are asked to share about stuff they've learnt throughout the whole journey. And I was excited to be (self-volunteered) first, since people are fighting to get the numbers at the back (we drew slots). My CF story was really something I myself am very in awe with, something that I can only say is by the work of the Lord alone. So I'm very excited to tell people about it.

To be frank, I played it once in my mind and that's pretty much it. I had faith! haha! Of course, God prefers HIS way in the end, so the whole plan was practically scrapped when I got up to speak. =P

Lying down on my bed when I reached home, that's only when I realized I actually spoke. Trying to recall what I actually spoke about. haha! It's like "what just happened?"

All I know is that it didn't went as the planned flow. In fact, I'm not sure whether there was a clear flow of my story. And also that not everything I wanted to say was said, and I also said things I never planned to say. Woot! haha! But I knew I was filled with the Spirit, so He knows what He did lah..

I suppose the response was good. I don't know.. what say you CFers? haha!

Oh well.. anyhow, I really did spoke my heart out and I really pray that something I said can impact just that 1 person, whoever that is. Pr Andy said that that's already considered as a successful sharing.

It was cool speaking love! And of love! And for love! YEAH! Love love love! Jesus Christ is the definition of LOVE!

Haha! I think I took up a WEE LITTLE much time than I myself expected, but oh well.. Pn Lan's planning for another day! HEHE... in the end only Aaron and I managed to share..

but OH WELL!

OH OH OH... and I told the whole CF, even the ex ex seniors who came, that WAI LEEM is GAY!! How cool is that man? hahahahaaha!!! ?(Don't do this at home/Do at your own risk)

Suspect's respond "No la, I'm just FULL OF LOVE this week, just that there weren't many girls to do PDA(Public Display of Affection), so resolved to guys"

Beware of baldies! xDDD Just for the record, I sat with the dude for the past 2 years(YEAA I KNOW RIGHTT), well except this week, wayy too affectionate.. hahaha! Exam stress i suppose... haha!

Challenge: Well... LOVE KNOWS NO FEAR! Whenever you have a chance to share... share your heart out! filled with passion and the Spirit. When you share with love, people will receive the love!

This is how we know what LOVE is: Jesus Christ laid down His life for us, so we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers. 1 John 3:16

We handed over the keys to the new committee! They didn't know and had the CF room locked. Normally I would read my bible or pray or just do something ?in the CF room alone while waiting for my mom. But this time I couldn't. So I went out to the waiting-covered-walkway area outside the school, somehow expecting a great conversation to breakout as I talk to someone. God put that in my heart, so I went out pretty much expecting a lot to happen. haha!

And ooh yeah! I met a friend out there waiting. He's a CFer. All the more.. cool! So we sat down and he saw the RR badges/stickers all around me.. hahaha! (the RR revival broke out the next week, so yea.. RR was like a new thing to everyone..) So he asked me about Recess Revolution, what is it and all. I was more than excited to pour out everything about RR to him, and even shared a few testimonies from out school and other schools. He was very astonished and amazed by the things that are happening.

I told him about how it's all about love and what we are called to do as Christians. He agreed. Then he shared with me about the issues he's going through trying to talk to a friend about Jesus and God. It's basically about how the friend is almost there, but everytime there will be some dude who comes out and create some doubt, so he never really succeeded. It was all cool just to lend my ears to him, I felt I didn't need to talk just yet, so he continued.

In the end, I just encouraged him that it's not just by the words of mouth that we can tell our friends about Jesus, actions speak louder than words, if only we could SHOW our friends Jesus. I've had my experiences with those and I learnt that 'people will not understand and experience the LOVE you speak about unless you show it to them'.

He was very encouraged as he left, I was charged up with passion as well with the conversation. The joy of doing what God had meant you to do is just unspeakable!

Challenge: Listen to the Holy Spirit and start a random conversation with someone, by just starting off as a patient listener. That's love! It'd be a bonus if you are led to even encourage that person! Go! Love! It's Jesus' command! =D

This is how we know what LOVE is: Jesus Christ laid down His life for us, so we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers. 1 John 3:16

I love Jaeson Ma! It's like God created this dude to inspire and encourage me every time I needed it. Awesome brother in Christ! For all the busy world changers out there, this is definitely for you! We are all in this together, this cause, this vision, this passion, this love, this family, this kingdom, this is just one of the issues we commonly face. But fear not, God has something to say through people that He wants to speak through.

This! Is just one of those articles that hit my heart in the bullseye.

Check it out. It really helped! At least for me to get my stuff right and get back on the track of the path of revolution!

LEARNING TO FOCUS
(Column in EAST WEEK MAGAZINE, HONG KONG)
by Jaeson Ma

These past few weeks have been so busy, yet very focused. I?m amazed I?m still able to get everything I need to get done with the time that I have in each day. I?m working currently on my new music album; I am also running a media/entertainment company that produces film/TV/music, while also being a pastor locally and internationally. I don?t know how it all works together at times, but somehow I find a way to make it all happen. Trust me, I do eat, exercise and sleep, but you have to remain extremely focused.

I find it hard to stay focused the older I get because with age comes more responsibilities, more relationships and more requests from people to do more things. How do you get everything done in a day? How do we get everything done in a week? I used to find myself wanting to break down because so many people wanted my time, wanted me to do something for them, or expectations and pressures from other external forces would mount up on me. Gradually, through time I have learned how to stay focused by keeping a few disciplines in my life consistent. What I have learned in order to stay focused is to learn how to say no to the unnecessary and yes to the necessary. Second is to make sure I practice time management. Thirdly,?is to delegate responsibilities to others.

1)?? Learn to say no to the unnecessary and yes to the necessary.

Most of the time, we tend to give ourselves to doing the urgent in front of us, or whatever comes up each day for us to do. This is very dangerous, because if we are constantly giving ourselves to the tyranny of the urgent we will never get done what we really want or need to get done. In one day, you will have someone calling you and asking you for a favor, or someone wanting to hang out and talk, or someone throwing a responsibility on your plate for either today or tomorrow. The question is, ?Do you really need to do it?? If you don?t need to do it, it?s simple, don?t.

We can?t be afraid to say ?no? to others and disappoint others, because if all we do is constantly say yes to doing what other people want us to do, we will never be able to do what we need to do. That means our dreams, our priorities, our passions get pushed back and never get done. We have to be responsible to ourselves first, before we can be responsible for others. Love yourself before you love another or you will constantly be frustrated.

2)?? Make sure to practice time management

Time management is everything for me. I write up a ?to do list? every Sunday night before I start my week to map out what I need to get done and when things need to get done. If I don?t have a plan, I plan to fail. If I do have a plan, I plan to win. Because with a vision, with a clear understanding of what needs to get done, both short term and long term nothing will ever get done.

I would encourage each of you reading this to take a basic course in time management and learn to start scheduling in time for things you absolutely can?t do without or are priorities in your life to do. For me, on a weekly basis aside from my business hours, I schedule time to record music in the studio, I schedule time for my recreational acting classes, I schedule time also to rest one day of the week, as well as for key appointments and my own personal time with God daily. I don?t let anything get inbetween these priority items in my life that are scheduled, that way I make sure I get to work on what I love and feel called to do.

3)?? Learn to delegate responsibilities to others

The art of delegation is equally important as all the rest of the disciplines. Remember, you can?t do everything! You are only human, not God. That means, there are things that you don?t have to do that others can do for you. This is why we need each other. No person can succeed in this life by them selves. We can only succeed if we enlist the help others. Learn to give to others to do what you don?t have to. I try to practice a principle where if I know someone can do what I?m trying to do, then I don?t do it but practice delegation. With this discipline it will free up more time for you to focus on doing the things you need to get done, not what everyone else wants you to get done.

Stay focused! Don?t get sidetracked with other unnecessary things, but learn with time to say no to the unnecessary, implement time management and give to others to do what you don?t have to do yourself. These disciplines will allow you to focus and stay the course of your calling! FOCUS!

God bless,

Today, famous 988 morning talk show radio DJ, political analyst, awesome chinese speaking Beijing-born malay, son of ex-famous CPM member Samsiah Fakeh... Jamaluddin Ibrahim (or commonly known as Jamal or 'jia-ma' in chinese) has been put on holiday by the BN government, mainly because of the 'good' deeds of new face-problem MCA leader, Chua Soi Lek.

He's like the awesomest political analyst and DJ ever, and just because of things he DID NOT say, he's put 'on holiday'. He has to go 'on holiday' because if not, the station would entirely be affected.

For many MANY Malaysians, supporting him on facebook and other social networking sites and media and also me, it's like "THAT'S IT LAH! enough is enough..", we don't care if you shoot us to death, because of the fact that you have invaded our human rights of speaking, we will NOT COMPROMISE anymore. This is not a Chinese, Malay, Indian issue... we're talking about a 'malay' being executed here by the way.. this is a MALAYSIAN issue.

A Malaysian is robbed his freedom of speech and thoughts, and us fellow Malaysians are furious about this. If their plans was to scare everyone else who wants to speak up, they have definitely FAILED. This has in fact stirred up the spirit of nationalisme amongst Malaysians.

Yea.. I have been studying sejarah and nationalisme means "pencetusan gerakan penduduk tempatan untuk membebaskan negara daripada kuasa jajahan asing". These "kuasa asing"(Which is true, they live in their own world ANYWAYS...) have "jajah-ed" our freedom and rights, not just as citizens of Malaysia, but also as common human beings, created equal in God's sight and given the FREE WILL to think and act for ourselves. If this is not JAJAHAN then I don't know what is this!

Seriously, UMNO-MCA-BN, that's it lah.... that's it.....

And sorry, the people are not afraid of the government anymore. you have failed.

I'm very encouraged and excited to see young people encouraging and pushing peers and even older ones to sign up as voters and make us the Rakyats clear on our stand here.

Many a times, it's not about how good PR is, it's purely about how bad BN is, making a joke out of themselves.

And that's the deciding factor.

UPDATES 10pm 19/8/2010: Teng Chang Khim tweeted:
Ops Lalang MCA: WongLaiNgo, FM988 CEO, terminated wf immediate effect, Jamal shelved, morning call-in current affair talk show scrapped.

I am officially PISSED! and for a good reason!

That's it lah MCA... like seriously.. Liow Tiong Lai was still bragging about how they wanna gain Malaysian support. junk talk! I don't think they'll even get support from the minority of the chinese community.

YB Hannah was right again, lets not waste time on MCA matters. Now the issue is not what they wanna do, we don't care, it's what they have done due to lack of attention! MAN! Justice must be lifted up!

I'm gonna start by praying here, join me!

He gave His life to free us from every kind of sin, to cleanse us, and to make us his very own people, totally committed to doing what is right. Titus 2:14

Colossians 3:14 says

And the most important piece of clothing you must wear is LOVE.

It's true. People wouldn't have a better impression on you if you wear the best, most-expansive, latest clothings but you don't have love. You don't have to waste money to buy yourself a good impression on other people. Whether on your interview or on your first date or anything else. God assures you that LOVE is all you need to put on. LOVE conquers all things. Fear, insecurities, nervousness, darkness, evil, injustice. When you know what it means to love, you have already won whether you think otherwise or not.

So girls (and confused guys), it doesn't matter what you wear. What matters is WHO you represent and HOW you show it.

On a less serious note, this verse SAVES! haha! Save what? A lot of shopping hassle... Oh man... It'd be awesome to have a girlfriend who lives by this verse. hahaha! Works both ways. Woman who follows Jesus and woman who shops fast! Woohoo! (Obviously, I need to work on this whole "shopping-endurance" thing, hehe... and I bet people are dying to provide such trainings for me... example: MOM... :S)

This is how we know what LOVE is: Jesus Christ laid down His life for us. So we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers. 1 John 3:16
