what in the world is the point of memorizing a bunch of questionable information and answering them as if it's 100% true.

I think SPM sejarah syllabus is such a dissapointment. I know I've shared about it before 2 posts before. But I'm gonna do it again.

Had Sejarah exams just now and my head is still literally aching hard til now. I actually cared to memorize it dead this time for the sake of passing it so that i won't be grounded. Something I can tell you is that I'm not used to memorize everything, stuff it in your like tuna and then paste them all out on the exam paper. I'm not used to it and I'm really proud of that.

I used to just do what I can and you can see blanks on my answer sheet, but this time i actually filled my papers up (like tuna, again) with information and I can tell you, It's not a satisfying feeling. Why? Because there is no purpose in doing so, therefore any accomplishments wouldn't have any significance at all. I mean, what in the world is the point of memorizing a bunch of questionable information and answering them as if it's 100% true. Propaganda?

It's just very unfair for us to study everything from one perspective. Seriously. Students should be given the freedom to think and decide for themselves. They should study an issue with intepretations from all perspectives rather than just one. The scariest thing is, today, not many(Malaysian robots students) even know that other intepretations and perspectives actually exsit! You ask me why? Kerana tak ada dalam skema!

This is the education culture in Malaysia, spoon feeding. Teachers themselves have not realized the reason of this situation.

Teacher: Students... Any questions?
Students: ........*looks around*.......................
Teacher: Okay,? well then thank you class..

The only reason why they have no questions is that they naturally believe that the teacher is right, even when teachers tell them that they are not neccesarrily right. Why? Because that's how the education culture has always been!

I think 'studying' is not an appropriate word for Malaysian high school students, it should be 'memorizing'. yep!

Anyway, here's the best part, after PASTING them all onto your exams paper. People simply forget it! Yes, I know... then what's the point of education in the first place if it's not for you to be educated for life? Because it's not relavant? AHA! You're starting to see it now. =) Yea, some might say, you still have some basics in your head. Yep, true. The single perspective one, right?

All in all, history is about lessons to be learnt, not facts to be memorized. At the very very least, not FORCE downloading.

We should be given questions with no exact answers. Not like last years pmr sejarah, so funny. 'What can you learn from....?'? 'A....B.....C....D....' So it's a subjective objective question? Or is it an objective subjective question? @@

Okay, would certainly continue part 2 if I have the time, haha!

But for now, I gotta go MEMORIZE for tomorrows exams.
