My Last Cross-country & 5S8 CNY Dinner

Sunday, February 7th, 2010

I got through my last cross-country as a purple house member yesterday and I lived! I really thought I was going to faint halfway through the race. I didn't manage to get a point for my house but I am thankful I finished it. I was so determined to get top 30 but knowing well enough I won't because of my lack of exercise and my non-existence stamina. Nonetheless I jogged for the first 2km and got really tired when I was entering my 3rd km so I decided to slow down and walk and occasionally jog when I have strength. When I was nearing the finishing line, they said my class had a few more seconds left, so I sprinted forward but to my disappointment, my time was up. Germaine greeted me with a smile because she got into the top 30 and we walked to the CF room together.

I felt like a failure then.
How could I not even get 1 point for purple house? I though to myself. Sheesh and it's already my last year. Germaine however replied "Maybe sports is not your thing. You have a talent for singing not like me." [rephrased]
At that moment, I was thinking to myself, yeah maybe that's true. Then, I laid down on the floor of the CF room with my bag as a pillow and slept. I was exhausted and totally drained and my sore throat from the night before was getting worse and to add to that, I was feeling sick and cold even though I was still sweating. I stayed on the floor for 30minutes when other CF members shuffled in and out of the room.

Finally at about 11am, it was time to gather all students of Catholic High School together and announce the results. All the members of every house were so hyped up, as always. I wanted to cheer but my sore throat was already bad enough so I decided against it but I participated in the wave which didn't require me to speak at all.

Purple house won again this year. I told Shu Min early that morning that purple was going to win again this year but she was so stubborn and I told Wai Leem that we'll say it feels like a deja vu when it's announced that we won. When it was all over, the first thing I did was run to Shu Min and said "It really does feel like a deja vu, don't you think?" I got whacked for saying that. Haha. Sorry girl, maybe our house really stole all the talented runners.

I know a few of  you guys got disqualified, which I shall not mention who but don't be too sad about it, I still love you guys :) *big hugs*

I feel sick when I got home. Felt too terrible to eat but I was starving so I had some porridge and visited the doctor who in return gave me some medicine for me to take. Had a 45 minutes nap and felt much better after that.

Then, had to get ready for dinner that nigh! Let's let the pictures to do the talking, shall we? (:

Emcees for the day, Jaykerr and Rachel. I think you guys did an awesome job ;)

First performance was Jaykerr, he and his Gu Zhen. I didn't know you were that good! Brilliant :)

Next up was Zhuo Zhi and Rushan, popping. I bet they practised when they were skipping classes in QM room. Don't worry, we won't tell anyone.

Then Jocelyn played and sang Bad Romance. AH JOCELYN! How sexy. I think if I was a guy I would have fallen for you, honest. It's your time to SHINE. Sounds bit familiar doesn't it, girl? Haha.

Invited Mr. Michael, our form teacher whom in the beginning initiated this whole dinner to give a speech.

Toasting because it's a Chinese tradition. Hm. Ok.

Germaine with Daryl.

Jaykerr, Zhuo Zhi and Rushan. Haha. Why were we all looking away?

Our ex-classmate who came back specially for the dinner.

Primary school friend till now! Time flies!

Prizes to be given out.

DSLR wannabe. :)

JoFan, this is for you. We cam-whored with MY DSLR.

Mr. Michael and family. With 2 out of place classmates.

Since Leslie was saying he felt like a gentleman that night, let's see what a "gentleman" he was at the table while eating.

Leslie and his usual "hehehe". It was hilarious sitting beside him during dinner.

Celebrated Kit Yeng's birthday. A day later than her original.

Her cake.

With the girls. Yee Teng & Joanne, where were you guys?

Jocelyn's.

Everyone dressed up that night and were all looking pretty and handsome. Some even wore a dress *ahem*and actually took the initiative to look more, dare I say, feminine *winks* you know who you are. Also, few of the guys actually looked smart in shirt. Didn't know our guys knew how to look good too. Although I had to leave early, I enjoyed myself and had an awesome time together with you all.

p/s- some of the pictures above were taken by Zebra. Thanks but most of them can't be used because they were either underexposed or overexposed! Anyhow, thank you nonetheless.

I still have some pictures to be put up. Some other day perhaps. Enjoy! If you need any of the pictures above, let me know.

Laine.

School ‘09

Tuesday, November 17th, 2009

Yesterday was the official last day of school and I missed it. Why? Simply because I didn't want to go to school. As simple as that. I doubt I missed anything anyway.

To sum the whole year up, the atmosphere 4S8 had was not new to me. The cliques here and there, gossiping and what not. I didn't say I was not guilty of doing committing them on certain occasions but we did managed to break some of the walls that kept us to our own clique. I am proud to say I know all of my classmates by name, ok I am sure all of you achieved that but let me indulge in my own happiness for awhile alright? :)

I have come to love 4S8 and I'm am looking forward to a new year and many more nonsense time in the coming year with you all again.

Some shots I took before the last school term ended.

Thank you all for making my year eventful, memorable and durable. Especially the girl who has been sitting beside me the whole year and always telling others what a lamo I am and what a fuss I can be. You are one tough nut but it was fun having all the arguments and disagreements. Thanks Germ!

Guitar Hero, Pancakes & MJ movie

Thursday, November 5th, 2009

Stayed over at Jocelyn's house last night and we watched Batman, again! We agreed it was a good movie so she popped it into the PS3 and played it. It was yet another thrilling experience to watch it again. Don't think I'll ever get bored of it. Her parents brought back dinner for us. Porridge :) Enough said. After the movie, both of us were very much exhausted due to the retirement and graduation on Wednesday. We decided to hit the sacks.
Jocelyn is one funny girl. When she washed up and ready for bed, she said she felt refreshed. :s OKAY. So I suggested we play guitar hero, on her PS3!Guitar HeroOh it was fun :) I couldn't use the guitar simulator I borrowed because it was for a PS2. We made do with one guitar simulator and a controller and I'm sure it would have been as fun as if we had 2 guitar simulators. We played till about 30minutes past 12 and it was clear that it was bedtime.
Lights off.

Wanna know a FF about Jocelyn Khoo Pei Lin? She wakes up at 5 in the morning everyday. I kid you not!
This morning however, she woke up later than usual, a little past 7. Right about when I woke up too. Got washed up, made breakkie!

Pouring the batterMorning Jocelyn and happy birthday! and NO she didn't do all the cooking. I helped too.

On the panThe batter in the pan. Smells good, with a tinge of cinnamon.

FlippingThere we go flipping the pancake and it's ready!

Breakfast was good. Period.
Then, we watched one episode of dollhouse. Oh my word, it's so confusing I don't get it. She exposed me to episode 13. She said it's somehow an epilogue, oh wells.

After we showered and got dressed, we headed to Midvalley for our movie we've been anticipating for a week or so. The MJ movie This Is It.

Got together with the other 6 girls [Yee Teng, Daphne, Joanne, Li Ean,Yi Yin and Twan Ting] and entered the cinema.

It was an awesome movie. A must watch! Those who are still contemplating to watch or not to, please do get a ticket. I am not a MJ fan but I enjoyed it nonetheless.

Lunched at Sushi King. Somehow Yee Teng couldn't stop laughing during lunch and the whole chair was somewhat vibrating because she laughs really hard. Enjoyed the company and unofficially celebrating Jocelyn's birthday.

We ended up in the arcade after lunch. Brings back memories. I guess the arcade is a good place to kill some time if you have no idea what to do. Played some games. It's pretty pathetic because their games are quite easy and petite. We were like a bunch of teenagers trying to look like we're 6, honestly. This is who we are, this is who I am. :)

HennessyHappy 16th birthday once again Jocelyn, cheers ;)

In The City of KL Where the Crazies Roamed

Wednesday, October 28th, 2009

We had an unofficial CF outing today to Pasar Seni [art market, literally].

Today I discovered at least a Fun Facts(FF) about each of them. Germaine doesn't know how to take a train. Germaine and Grace are simply as blur as each other [the 2 lost sheep]. Honestly lost and helpless and yet they leading the way. The blind leading the blind I must say. Jo Fan's jokes are getting rusty and he likes tailing lost sheep [why follow the lost eh JF? Can't help it? Haha]. Aaron is pretty wise, a very rare moment. Yu Song is very ambitious. Wai Leem, is the president of CF :D that's not new. He's got good jokes, unlike Jo Fan's which can be very deadly.

We took a train to Pasar Seni from Taman Jaya. Germ got "stuck" at the entrance to the train because she know nuts how it operates. We were laughing our heads off but of course we helped her in the end. Tease her a bit here and there and joked about it. I think what she wrote on her blog is pretty true. We will be laughing about it until we have something else funnier to laugh at. For the moment, she will be the joke.

Germ and GraceLittle lost sheep so excited on the train.Wai LeemWhere's your wheelchair wai?!

Got there in 30 minutes, which felt really short. Got lunch in KFC. Ok here is where I am going to voice out my dissatisfaction! Come on man, lunch was RM12.80! How ridiculous is that?! Oh wells. I still wanted to eat siew yoke ok.

Crap some more over lunch. So this is what Aaron came out with since we were all so lame. Enjoy.

Welcome to M.O.L.
M.O.L. stands for
Ministry of Lamniocity

To get a degree in lamnistics, you have to enter the University of Lame-olution. After you have completed your degree, you have to go to M.O.L. to get get a permit to be lame. If you have a permit, you are officially a lamenist. If you don't have a permit, you are counted as an illegal lamenist and the punishment is that you will be lame. But the law is wrong and only Jesus can heal the lame therefore the lame are cleared of their lame status and so making you a living testimony! because you are healed, get it?

This was by Aaron Ng Jin Ting and was contributed by Ee Laine and Jo Fan and cannot be reproduced in any way whatsoever.

Told this to my brother earlier and the only reaction I got from him was
"No wonder you are like that too."

The day ended with a bus ride home. :D bus rides are always fun. I love bus rides. Thanks Wai and Aaron for accompanying me. Thanks for the company too you guys. We should do this again some time. ;)

Germ got a new blog btw. Finally after the last dead one. :)

Out with Twan Ting

Monday, October 19th, 2009

Twan Ting and I couldn't resist to celebrate the fact that our month long year-end exam had finally come to an end we went out on Friday, the day after our exams ended. I met up with her in MidValley at about 11 and got down to eating first.  Yes we were both so hungry I bet we could eat a horse. It's essential to fill your stomach before anything, yea?

Did some window shopping after lunch and had a great time just talking. I was hunting for a belt and she was looking for a slippers. We both didn't find what we were looking for in the end but I got a bag instead. Nonetheless, enjoyed the time with her. Will definitely be going out with her again as soon as we can get the others too.
Can't wait!

With starbucks

I am a mocha addict now. I can't stop thinking about my next mocha after a mocha. I'm in love! [but I must admit, it's burning a hole in my wallet]

Mischievous

Saturday, September 12th, 2009

I just thought of catching up with dear old Agnel yesterday so I decided to text him. Amazingly he called me back from his office. Why I say amazingly? Well, because it's hard to even get a reply from him sometimes! So anyways, I had a good long chat with Agnel. Caught up a bit and he even called me little maggot. Maybe he has the rights but I felt so insulted. =/ I am yet to get his new album, haha. Sorry la low on cash, not working! Soon though, don't worry.

Early this morning, another of our friend left overseas to study. Adrian Chew. I followed Kel to the airport at the very last minute because I forgot he was going. We met the others in church at about 10 last night and departed from there at about 10.45. The journey to KLIA was very exciting indeed. With Julie Ann, Ollie, Kanae and I and Kel driving. Ollie brought all his jokes with him so much was crapped in the car. Cheah, Kat and Dan was in the other car and as well and Tabby & Siew.

Reached KLIA at about 11+ and met up with Se-Ken, Darren and Barry. Waited for the "VIP" to come and finally he did. Did some more catching up there with them because I haven't seen few of them in ages.

So here came the climax, when Chew had to check in and board this plane. There was the moment of silence after boss prayed for him where he was standing in the middle while we all surrounded him. He started hugging us all one by one, whispering into our ears something he wanted to say before he left and some of us returned it. At that moment the mood changed. He was leaving. Everyone kept their feelings in check. No one cried, we all just joked ourselves out of it. Coming to send him off wasn't planned for me but I'm glad I did. Though we may have in a way lost the touch we had, you'll always be like a big brother to me in some ways. =)
VBS never died Chew, it never did! Wish you all the best over there and study hard! I hope you don't take those stupid advices they gave you, please, use the head alright?

SO here's the part I was waiting for to write. Our night didn't end just there. We went to catch aeroplanes landing in the airport. It was such an enthralling experience indeed. We were lucky enough to catch one aeroplane with 2 wings early in the morning. We caught the plane at about 2am under the starry night with this crazy bunch of youths, while me being the only minor present.haha, indeed they are just much older.

Chubbs059A glimpse for now ;)

more to come

Lainie.
